Organization 101: Scheduling Your Life around Your Health
Do you plan for health with the same intensity as you do for relationships, work or finances? A few minutes to organize your health can pay a great dividend to your overall wellness. Scheduling time to exercise, to meet with your weight loss doctor in Lakeland and to prepare a healthy meal for you and your family to share are all great ways to find more “you” time in your day. You can regain control and organize your day around your own needs by following a few simple steps.
- Clear away Clutter. Give your kitchen an extreme makeover by clearing counters, cupboards and fridge of junk food. Instead, stock up on fruits, veggies and whole grain products. By filling your cabinets with healthy dinner ingredients and nutritious snacks you will be more likely to eat healthier on the go!
- Stay Hydrated. Carry a water bottle with you at all times. This will encourage you to drink water when you are thirsty and will prevent you from becoming over thirsty or dehydrated. Also, when you have water on hand you are less likely to go for a soda or sugary juice option.
- Plan ahead to make changes in your old routines. Let the calorific fast foods go. Be sure to eat a snack before grocery shopping or eating out to minimize your hunger. When dining out, stick to small portions and single helpings.
- Become more active. Increasing your physical activity can be done in many ways, and is definitely not limited to the gym. Instead of dreading the gym every night, try scheduling fun weekend events such as rock climbing, ice skating or taking a hike with the dog.
