Flexibility Exercises after weight loss surgery
Increasing your flexibility after weight loss surgery can make everyday activities including housework, playing with your children and walking easier. The more flexible you become, the less muscle pain you generally feel from daily living and the less muscle tension you will have. All in all, increasing your flexibility leads to living a more comfortable and productive life.
But how do you do it? Increasing your flexibility is as easy as taking time out to stretch each day. There are many different stretches you can do, and each should be done slowly and without jerky or bouncy movements. Stretching may seem like something quick and easy, but if done improperly can cause pain and stress to your muscles and joints.
One example of a stretch you can do is a simple sitting hamstring stretch. Sit on the floor with your legs extended in front of you. Slowly reach your hands toward your toes while keeping your legs flat on the floor. The goal of this stretch is not to actually touch your toes, merely to reach for them. You should do this slowly and only until you feel a comfortable stretch in your legs. Hold, then ease yourself back and repeat.
