Enjoying the Tampa Summer Safely

During the summer, many people take their exercise indoors in order to avoid heat stroke, sunburn and other summer discomforts. Not every Floridian enjoys working out indoors though. For some, the chirp of birds, warm summer breezes and sound of rustling tree limbs is an important part of the motivation to get moving. And moving after bariatric surgery is the name of the game when you are seeking weight loss success. So, how can you enjoy a summer workout while staying cool?

The first step is to dress appropriately. Wear cotton fabrics that are loose and provide as minimal coverage as you are comfortable with. Next, be sure to have cool water with you. Too cold water can cause headaches, but cool water kept in insulated containers can help keep your body cool.

Another consideration when attempting to stay cool while exercising outdoors in the summer is shade. If you can find a shaded area to work out in, it will help keep you up to ten degrees cooler. make sure that the shaded area still allows for a breeze to reach you.

Wearing a visor can also help you keep your face cool while allowing the breeze to get to your head. Wearing a baseball hat can make you overly warm, so a visor is safer.
